History and purpose of award
This scholarship was established through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation in 1994 by the Wellington Historical and Early Settlers' Association in memory of its then President, the Rt Reverend James E Worsfold, to encourage research into the early history of the Wellington region.
This scholarship is open to students who intend to enrol in a BA (Hons), MA or PhD relating to New Zealand history including the Wellington region.
