History and purpose of Award
The Dan F Jones scholarship in science was established through the Victoria University Foundation in 1998 by a bequest from Dan Fletcher Jones, who retained an active and enquiring interest in Science and Mathematics.
It is open to students studying to complete an Honours degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology or Earth Sciences. In accordance with the terms of the bequest, the scholarship will be awarded on the basis on academic merit and financial need.
