This Scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded by Melanie Smith. Melanie is Ngāpuhi and lives in London working as a CEO. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support young Māori women studying business at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

Applicants must be of Māori descent, identify as female and be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time or part-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the Wellington School of Business and Government in the year of application.
