This scholarship is intended to honour Sir John's legacy of commitment to supporting the next generation and giving back to the community. It also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to receive mentoring and coaching from professionals working in New Zealand's financial markets.

This scholarship is open to NZ Citizens, Permanent Residents or Resident visa holders who are entering their first year of study and majoring in a degree offered by the School of Accounting and Commercial Law at Victoria University of Wellington. This scholarship is intended to support emerging leaders who have chosen a career in commerce and are committed to undergraduate study at VUW. This scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum, to be paid as a monthly stipend. Recipients of this scholarship will also receive an offer of mentorship from ANZ Bank NZ, an offer of a summer internship at ANZ Bank NZ at the end of the first and second year of study, and more.
